PHARMACOLOGIC UPDATES FROM THE ACC/AHA 2025 ACS GUIDELINES

Upon completion of this activity, pharmacists will be able to:
1. Recall the major pharmacologic updates in the 2025 ACC/AHA guidelines for management of ACS, including dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) and lipid-lowering therapy.
2. Discuss patient factors (e.g., bleeding risk, comorbidities) that influence pharmacologic recommendations in the updated guidelines.
3. List the preferred P2Y12 inhibitors and LDL-C targets recommended in the 2025 ACS guidelines.
Upon completion of this activity, technicians will be able to:
1. Identify common antiplatelet and lipid-lowering agents used in the management of ACS.
2. Recall safety considerations associated with dual antiplatelet therapy, including the risk of bleeding.
3. Recognize the role of high-intensity statins and adjunct lipid-lowering agents in ACS management.
