Upon completion of this activity, pharmacists will be able to:
1. Describe the clinical presentation and DSM-V diagnostic criteria for Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
2. Discuss the pathophysiology of antidepressants/anti-anxiety agents and how emerging therapies are anxiolytic via their specific mechanism of action
3. Identify which patients and anxiety disorders are the best candidates for emerging antidepressants and offlabel usage
4. Report key counseling points and the most prevalent side effects for each psychotropic medication
Upon completion of this activity, technicians will be able to:
1. Describe the DSM-V diagnostic criteria for Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
2. Discuss the pathophysiology of antidepressants and how they work via their specific mechanism of action
3. Report key counseling points and the most prevalent side effects for each psychotropic medication
