BONE HEALTH: REVIEW OF OSTEOPOROSIS MANAGEMENT

Upon completion of this activity, pharmacists will be able to:
1. Calculate calcium and vitamin D intake through dietary foods and beverages to determine if supplements are needed.
2. Identify and prevent or resolve medication-induced osteoporosis.
3. Review osteoporosis medications' pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and adverse effects.
4. Design an osteoporosis treatment regimen for a patient.
5. Compare and contrast standard osteoporosis treatment for a specific patient population (postmenopausal women, men, chronic kidney disease).
Upon completion of this activity, technicians will be able to:
